The AZ Maria Middelares Prototype with Schyns Q-100 Integrativ Horizontal
In collaboration with TLV, Balteau, and SPIE, VP Entreprise has completed the first phase of construction of the new Chwapi building. This project included the integration of Madeira, an aesthetic and functional product by TLV, which perfectly matches the hospital’s architectural requirements. For over 20 years, VP Entreprise has been providing high-quality medical equipment and outstanding service. Chwapi, located in Wallonia, Belgium, is committed to high-quality patient care and innovation. The collaboration with Balteau and SPIE contributed to the precise installation of the product.

AZ Maria Middelares, with locations in Ghent, Deinze, Aalter, and Gentbrugge, is a leading Belgian hospital focused on high-quality care, innovation, and patient experience. With more than 400 doctors and 2,500 employees, it offers both general and specialized care supported by modern infrastructure.
In 2009, AZ Maria Middelares implemented an innovative prototype in a modular new building of approximately 60 rooms, emphasizing the integration of advanced healthcare solutions. For this project, our partner Schyns supplied the Schyns Q-100 Integrativ Horizontal Medical Supply Unit, a modular medical facility unit specifically designed for use in hospitals and medical facilities. This modular system offers unparalleled flexibility and adaptability by combining and configuring various modules and components according to the specific needs of the medical space.
The Schyns Q-100 Integrativ Horizontal integrates medical technology and infrastructure, such as gas supplies, electricity, and communication, ergonomically and efficiently. Thanks to its smart design, installation, and maintenance can be easily carried out, contributing to the effectiveness and longevity of the medical facility. The panels are elegantly finished and adapt to various interior styles while meeting all medical standards for functionality and safety.
The installation of these units was performed by Michel Theyskens, an experienced contractor specializing in hospital design. His expertise and attention to detail ensure the perfect integration of our products into the healthcare environment. The collaboration with Michel Theyskens, along with VP Entreprise's constant support and excellent customer service, guarantees not only efficient installation but also the reliability essential in medical settings.
This 2009 prototype demonstrates how modern technology and skilled execution come together to optimize care quality at AZ Maria Middelares. By enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the healthcare environment, this project has contributed to the hospital’s forward-thinking care infrastructure.
